The Hayling Society
The Hayling Society is a newly formed non-profit group that hopes to carry out a number of small projects with the aim of making improvements to the lives of those who live, work and visit Hayling Island.
The group was formed as a result of the incredible community spirit shown by members of the Hayling.co.uk Forum. When vandals destroyed a sundial at Mill Rythe Infant School, forum members stepped forward and began raising funds to replace the sundial. This impromptu "good deed" was so successful that the school not only received a replacement sundial, but also a brand new buddy bench for the children to enjoy. Both items were supplied and installed by forum members without cost to the school.
This community minded act, and others like it, have inspired the formation of The Hayling Society. It is hoped that by leveraging the great community spirit shown by many people on the Island we can all work together to improve it in small ways.
